Monaco are demanding more than €60m (£51m) for Man Utd transfer target Lamine Camara, according to reports in the French media.

Local newspaper Monaco Matin (via Sport Witness) claim that the Ligue One side would want a “substantial offer” for the Senegalese international

They have already knocked back a €35m (£30m) offer from Crystal Palace, who are one of five Premier League clubs pursuing his signature.

It is believed that Michael Carrick’s side, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea are also in the mix for the Camara, but Monaco are reluctant sellers and it is suggested that €60m may not even be enough to secure his services.

Why is there so much interest in Camara?

The midfielder has been on the radar of English clubs since he burst onto the scene at the African Cup of Nations in 2024.

Within six months, Camara had secured himself a move from Metz to Monaco, and he has continued to impress scouts with his performances.

There have been some recent setbacks, and he did struggle at the World Cup, but many believe he has a big future ahead of him.

Man Utd are still weighing up whether to sign another midfielder

Camara is seemingly one of several names on the shortlist of Director of Football Jason Wilcox and Head of Recruitment Christopher Vivell.

It is believed that Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Roma’s Manu Kone are among the top targets, with the likes of Fulham’s Sander Berge and Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams deemed as lower priorities.

At the moment, though, it isn’t even clear that the Red Devils will make a move for a third midfielder, having already recruited Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos this summer.
