The Steelers have reached agreement on a new five-year, $73.75 million deal with defensive end Keeanu Benton, sources have told the Post-Gazette on Friday.

Benton, a second-round pick in 2023, was in the final year of a four-year contract in which he was due $1.749 million in salary and would count $2,333,267 against the salary cap. His new deal runs through the 2030 season.

Benton is the fourth of five players the Steelers had targeted for new contracts before the start of the regular season. The only remaining player who hasn’t agreed to a new deal is cornerback Joey Porter Jr.

In three seasons, Benton has registered 123 tackles, 28 quarterback hits and 7 ½ sacks. After being used mostly as a nose tackle since being drafted, Benton has played almost exclusively at defensive end in training camp.
