Every Premier League stadium ranked with Man Utd 14th and Chelsea in bottom 5

As difficult and subjective as it may be, the Express has tried to rank all 20 Premier League stadiums for the 2026/27 season.

Manchester United fans are very unlikely to agree with the ranking.

There will be some disagreement on this run down, we're sure!

Ranking every Premier League stadium is an exceptionally tough job. There are so many different things you can judge them on, and every football fan will have their own idea of what makes a great ground. Some will care most about the atmosphere and history, while others will look at the size of the stadium, its location and what the facilities are like.

Then there are the views from the seats, how close supporters are to the pitch, the concourses, food and drink options and how easy the stadium is to get to. Age also plays a part. Some older grounds have decades of history but are now in need of major work, while newer stadiums may have better facilities but cannot offer the same history.

As difficult and subjective as it may be, the Express has tried to rank all 20 Premier League stadiums for the 2026/27 season. We took into consideration things such as ageing infrastructure, amenities, views from the seats, atmosphere, history and that general Premier League feel.

So, here is our ranking from 20th all the way down to first. Let us know what your order would be in the comments.

20. Vitality Stadium – Bournemouth

Dean Court, Vitality Stadium. Aerial view.

Bournemouth come in at the bottom of our list, mainly because of the size of the Vitality Stadium. It holds around 11,300 supporters, making it comfortably the smallest Premier League ground in our ranking.

There are still things to like. The four individual stands are close to the touchlines, so supporters are never far away from the action, and the stadium has under-soil heating, digital entry systems and the facilities needed for Premier League football. But there is limited space around the concourses and the ground simply cannot compete with the size and facilities offered elsewhere in the league.

19. MKM Stadium - Hull City

Nationwide League Division Three: Hull City v Northampton Town

The MKM Stadium opened in 2002 and holds around 25,500 supporters. It is a modern bowl, with a single tier running around most of the stadium and an additional upper tier on the West Stand.

Fans generally get clear views of the pitch and the ground has wide concourses, step-free access, conference facilities and food and drink points around the stadium. It is easy enough to move around and there are few major problems with it. But compared with many of the grounds higher up this list, it lacks the history and atmosphere that can make a Premier League stadium stand out.

18. Portman Road - Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town. Portman Road Stadium.

Portman Road has hosted football since 1884 and holds around 30,300 supporters. It has four separate stands, including ones named after two of the biggest figures in Ipswich's history, Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey.

Its location and layout give it the feel of an older English football ground, while newer parts of the stadium offer good views of the pitch. There have also been improvements such as contactless payment points. However, some of the older sections have narrow concourses, low ceilings and tight seating. That ageing infrastructure leaves Ipswich in our bottom three.

17. Selhurst Park - Crystal Palace

Aerial view of Selhurst Park

Selhurst Park has been Crystal Palace's home since 1924 and holds around 25,500 supporters. One thing it certainly does not lack is noise. The Holmesdale Road Stand can help create a strong home atmosphere, while much of the seating is close to the pitch.

But the stadium is now more than 100 years old and that shows in certain areas. Some concourses are narrow, facilities are dated and structural pillars can block the view from certain seats. There is plenty of history at Selhurst Park, but the ground itself is in need of further redevelopment.
