Mara Alber will make her return to the Frauen Bundesliga for the 2026/27 season, joining Wolfsburg on loan from Chelsea Women.

Wolfsburg were runners-up in the German top flight last term and quarter-finalists in the Champions League.

The 20-year-old signed with the Blues last summer from TSG Hoffenheim but headed back to Germany for the second half of the season on loan to Werder Bremen, where she played in 13 matches, starting 11, and chipped in with two goals and an assist.

Alber has scored 22 goals across her 50 caps for Germany’s development teams from U-15s to U-23s and helped her country win the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2022 and finish second at the U19 Euros a year later.
