Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Kazakhstan international Dastan Satpayev from FC Kairat, with the highly rated forward immediately joining Championship side Burnley on loan for the 2026/27 season.
The move was confirmed by Chelsea on Friday, bringing an end to the long-anticipated transfer of one of Kazakhstan’s most promising young footballers. Satpayev, who turned 18 earlier this week, has signed a long-term contract with the Blues before heading to Burnley to gain regular experience in English senior football.
Chelsea originally reached an agreement with Kairat for Satpayev in February 2025, with the transfer structured to take place after the forward turned 18. The teenager has since continued his development in Kazakhstan, establishing himself as a first-team player and earning international recognition.
Satpayev arrives at Stamford Bridge with significant senior experience despite his age. He made his senior debut for Kairat at 15 and went on to become an important attacking player for the club. Reports have credited him with more than 50 senior appearances and a prolific scoring record during his time in Kazakhstan.
The forward has also represented Kazakhstan at senior international level, underlining the rapid progress he has made since emerging from Kairat’s academy.
Despite those encouraging displays, CHELSEA have opted to send the youngster out on loan rather than immediately integrate him into their first-team squad for the new Premier League campaign.
Burnley will provide Satpayev with an opportunity to adapt to English football while competing regularly in the Championship. The Clarets are managed by Nicky Hayen and will be hoping the teenager can add further attacking quality as they pursue a return to the top flight.
The loan is understood to be for the full 2026/27 campaign, with reports indicating there is no option for Burnley to make the move permanent. Satpayev is therefore expected to return to Chelsea next summer after a season of first-team experience.
For CHELSEA, the arrangement reflects their strategy of combining long-term recruitment with carefully planned development pathways.
For Satpayev, meanwhile, the Championship represents the next major test of a career that has progressed rapidly from Kairat’s academy to international football and now the Premier League
