CorSport: ‘Benefits no one’ – Nwaneri’s stock internally at Arsenal falls as Milan remain in…

Nwaneri Arteta

Ethan Nwaneri’s name is near the top of AC Milan’s wish list this summer and the forward could certainly leave Arsenal in the next few weeks.

Nwaneri has become a bit of an old toy for the Gunners recently. He emerged onto the scene and seemed to be one of the club’s future stars. However, Max Dowman entering the picture pushed him aside.

So, he’s been left somewhat in the shadows, as seen with his loan move to Marseille last season and he could leave again this summer.

Nwaneri’s situation

As relayed by MilanNews this morning, Corriere dello Sport report that Milan are still very keen on Nwaneri. The Englishman would tick several boxes for the Portuguese coach and he would fit the ‘RedBird mould’, so to speak.

A young, left-footed player who is versatile enough to play somewhat centrally or on the wing, he would be an exceptional option for Amorim.

So, Mikel Arteta’s comments yesterday are of extreme interest.

“His talent, his desire to succeed, his love and passion for this game are unquestionable. That’s something I’ve always appreciated about Ethan. I think he’s had some fantastic games and has shown everyone he has the ability to be here.

“I want him to stay at the club, but in the medium to long term, it must be the best choice for the player himself. Ethan needs to play football, and if he stays here, it will be because we can guarantee him the playing time he needs. Otherwise, I think it’s a situation that benefits no one.”

The report states that his stock is falling internally at Arsenal, so it could well be an opportunity that the Rossoneri have to take soon.
