In the U.S., you can watch Arsenal vs. Manchester City on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10 AM ET on Sunday, Aug. 16. The FA Community Shield is an interesting match to follow as it opens the festivities before the Premier League kicks off. It pits the previous season’s FA Cup and Premier League winners against each other.

British fans can watch the FA Community Shield on TNT Sports and HBO Max starting at 3 PM BST. In last year’s edition, Crystal Palace defeated Liverpool 3-2 on penalties. Manchester City’s eternal rivals, Manchester United, have the most wins in the trophy’s history, with 21. Currently, Arsenal is a 17-time winner of the summer trophy, while Man City sits at seven.
In the Community Shield, Arsenal and Manchester City have clashed in 1934, 2014, and 2023; on all occasions, Arsenal won. Their latest match ended 4-1 on penalties.
What’s Arsenal’s predicted lineup for the Community Shield?
Arsenal’s predicted lineup looks like this: Raya; White, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimaraes, Lewis-Skelly, Odegaard; Max Dowman, Christos Tzolis and Kai Havertz. At the moment of publication, Mikel Arteta’s official lineup hasn’t been disclosed. The Spanish manager will have Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Martin Zubimendi at disposition following their World Cup extended break.
Bruno Guimaraes will also have all eyes on him for his first important assignment following the transfer to Arsenal from Newcastle. Guimaraes’ debut with the Gunners, a friendly match with Como, went pretty well, with Arsenal winning 4-3 on penalties earlier this week.

Manchester City’s predicted lineup sees Gianluigi Donnarumma; Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Rayan Ait-Nouri; Mateo Kovacic, Nico Gonzalez; Semenyo, Foden, Jeremy Doku; Marmoush. Enzo Maresca is officially replacing Pep Guardiola and aims to secure his first trophy with City. Maresca can also count on Erling Haaland, but it’s unclear if the Norwegian star will play on Sunday.
Spain national team captain and City midfielder Rodri is officially in rehabilitation after minor back surgery and is unlikely to play, while rumors suggest he’s negotiating a move away from the team. City’s latest addition to its roster, 23-year-old midfielder Elliot Anderson, is also expected to play.
