Liverpool are reportedly expected to table an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain star Ibrahim Mbaye in the coming days.
The Reds have had a quiet transfer window so far, with new manager Andoni Iraola only signing winger Victor Munoz so far, while defender Jeremy Jacquet has also arrived after agreeing a transfer in January.
But the 20-time English champions have got a razor-thin squad as things stand, having lost Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate on free transfers, while several other players are being heavily linked with a move away from Anfield ahead of the September 1st deadline.
PSG star Bradley Barcola is understood to be the club's top target for the remainder of the window, but the European champions' exorbitant £145m price tag for the France international has proven to be a major stumbling block, despite the player already agreeing to make the move to the Premier League side.
But it's understood that Liverpool are also pushing for another addition from the Ligue 1 giants, with Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye a target, and it's now reported that an opening offer could be incoming.
PSG have completed the arrival of Spain international Ferran Torres from Barcelona, just weeks after he scored the winning goal in the World Cup final, while they have also agreed a deal with Ajax for Mika Godts to make the switch to Paris.
Now, according to L'Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, Liverpool are expected to make their first offer for Mbaye in the coming days as a result.
GIVEMESPORT sources understand that the player would be open to making the move to Anfield, although PSG are demanding a big fee despite his inexperience. Mbaye is keen to leave for more regular first-team football, and Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on his signature.

With the Premier League season less than a week away from beginning, Liverpool are in dire need of some reinforcements for Iraola.
Currently in attack the club have Alexander Isak as a number nine option, with Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, Florian Wirtz, Munoz and Harvey Elliot available to play behind him. That's nowhere near enough for a team who want to be competing at the highest level.
PSG are willing to let Mbaye leave, and the player himself wants a move away, so a deal is there to be done. Now it's time for FSG to make it happen to give the manager what he wants and needs.
