Confidence is growing that Liverpool can sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window closes next month.

The Reds are aiming to bring in attacking reinforcements after letting former talisman Mohamed Salah join Trabzonspor on a free transfer. They are also without Hugo Ekitike for the foreseeable future, as the Frenchman recovers from a serious Achilles injury.

Barcola is among Liverpool's summer transfer targets. A deal is looking increasingly likely after PSG announced the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona. The French team is also on the verge of bringing in Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax.

The signings of Torres and Godts suggest PSG is planning for life without Barcola. PSG boss Luis Enrique also has Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Ibrahim Mbaye, Maghnes Akliouche and Quentin Ndjantou at his disposal.

As such, there seems to be a good chance that Barcola will depart the French capital this summer.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided a further update on Barcola's situation on his YouTube channel, suggesting Liverpool has a great chance of signing him.

"My confidence, my feeling, speaking to my sources on Bradley Barcola to Liverpool, is growing," said Romano. "The confidence is absolutely, absolutely growing. So the chances to see Bradley Barcola join Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain are growing."

Romano also provided an update on the story on his X account, claiming there "are issues on personal terms" for Barcola.

The transfer will ultimately depend on "financial agreements" between Liverpool and PSG.

Barcola won't come cheap. Recent reports suggest PSG's asking price for the World Cup star is £145 million ($196 million). If the Reds agree to pay that cash, Barcola will become the most expensive signing in Premier League history.

Liverpool is unlikely to pay that much for Barcola; PSG will need to reduce its asking price significantly for a transfer to be finalized.

Barcola has scored 39 goals in 152 games since joining PSG three years ago. He's won several trophies during his time in the French capital, including three Ligue 1 titles and the Champions League twice.

Barcola was part of France's squad for the recent World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The 23-year-old scored three times as his country finished fourth.

It could be a case of one in, one out at Liverpool, as Romano also claimed that Cody Gakpo is willing to join Tottenham this summer. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue between the Dutchman and Spurs, but a transfer fee is still to be agreed.
