Peter Crouch believes Bradley Barcola will be an excellent signing for Liverpool — if a transfer fee can be agreed with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Reds are inching closer to signing Barcola, 23, from PSG. While the two clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee for the French forward, personal terms are not expected to be an issue. PSG is also working hard to bring in replacements for Barcola.
Ferran Torres, who scored Spain's winner against Argentina in the recent World Cup final, has just completed a transfer from Barcelona to PSG. Mika Godts is also close to joining the French team from Ajax, pushing Barcola even further down the pecking order.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, confidence is growing that Liverpool can sign Barcola before the transfer window closes. Former Reds striker Crouch is excited about the prospect of his former club signing the two-time Champions League winner.
"He's a really talented player, and if the deal does get over the line, it'll be really good for Liverpool," Crouch told Paddy Power.
If Barcola joins Liverpool, fellow left-winger Cody Gakpo could depart. Tottenham is interested in signing the Dutchman, but the Reds are unlikely to sanction a deal until a replacement has been found.

Crouch added: "It does look like they'll be getting rid of Gakpo, potentially to Spurs, so they need a top-quality winger to come in.
"Barcola is a player I really like. Look, no one is ever going to be able to replace (Mohamed) Salah goals-wise, but he’s immensely talented and would be a good signing.
"PSG have got top wingers in (Khvicha) Kvaratskhelia and (Desire) Doue, so it’s hard for him (Barcola) to compete and play 90 minutes regularly, but I think he’d walk into most people’s teams in Europe."
Crouch on Gakpo to Tottenham
Regarding Gakpo's proposed move to Spurs, Crouch believes the transfer makes perfect sense.
The winger is looking to regain his best form after scoring just seven Premier League goals for Liverpool last season, while Spurs must improve significantly after narrowly avoiding relegation in 2026.
Crouch continued: "Spurs would be perfect for him.
"He'd do really well there. He would go straight into the squad and be one of the main men. Going forward has obviously been a problem for Spurs the last couple of seasons. Certainly, last year, they missed a lot of creativity and a lot of goals.
"Gakpo would bring something different to the team for sure."
