While Arsenal and Spurs may have designs on signing Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen this summer, it appears he has always had his eye on Chelsea. Recent reports have intimated that the striker's name has cropped up during discussions between Arsenal and the Turkish side, who themselves have shown interest in Gunners stars Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.

Spurs are also being linked with a move for the highly-rated star, who has had a price tag of around £58million. Yet there is already an offer on the table from the Saudi Arabian side, Al Hilal, who are believed to have put forward a huge £110m to get the deal over the line.

Osimhen, 27, almost joined Arsenal in 2016 but signed for German club Wolfsburg instead. He is believed to be open to moving to the Premier League as of 2023.

While playing for Napoli, he said: "I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me.

"A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I'm in one of the best leagues in the world, which is the Italian Serie A.

"I'm working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it's a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well."

However, there's mounting evidence that the Nigerian star has a soft spot for west London. Osimhen saw a move to Stamford Bridge break down on transfer deadline day in 2024, with the forward joining Galatasaray on loan instead, before signing on a permanent deal with the Turkish giants a season later.

Osimhen's international team-mate William Troost-Ekong spoke about the striker in 2025, revealing who he supports and the amount of interest he has seen in the star.

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Troost-Ekong said.

Blues legend – and Osimhen’s compatriot – John Obi Mikel, told BeIN Sports in April 2025 that he has dreams of pulling on a blue shirt. “He wants to play for Chelsea. I hope [he’ll be playing] somewhere in the Premier League," he said.

Yet there aren't believed to be any talks between the Blues and Osimhen this summer. Osimhen's friend and former Nigeria team-mate John Ogu made it clear he hopes the Galatasaray striker will join Arsenal.

Ogu posted on X: "Dear Lord please let that his move to Arsenal come to pass, AMEN," accompanied by a praying hands emoji.

Meanwhile, Spurs have splashed the cash this summer, to the tune of £237m, and their spending suggests they could provide an attractive financial package for Galatasaray to part with their star striker.

Spurs chief Robert De Zerbi has made no secret of his desire to add to his attack, saying last month: "The target now is to complete the attacking positions.

"We want the first target, the first level, because anyway we are already important players, but I think to start the new project we need another couple of important players, for sure."
