Shedeur Sanders' Mother Shuts Down the Noise With Powerful Message After Browns QB's Rough Preseason Opener 1
Shedeur Sanders is one of the most promising quarterbacks in the NFL. He is also expected to be one of the emerging quarterbacks next season. Drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2025, he had a good rookie season and managed to play many games.
However, things did not go well for him with a poor performance in the first preseason game. He is already under much scrutiny but has found some support from a close person.

The Browns had a disastrous preseason opener, losing with a huge score of 34-10 in their first game since last season. Deshaun Watson started the game and helped the team score the only 10 points in the first half. Shedeur later entered the game, and completed 6 of 11 passes for 79 yards with one interception.

Early in the game, Shedeur was performing well, and even delivered a 35-yard completion to wide receiver Luke Floriea that moved the Browns deep into Bears territory. However, an attempted pass over the middle sailed high and was intercepted by Beanie Bishop Jr. Another pass was also batted down at the line and did not lead the offense to any points across his three series. He finished with just three rushing yards.
After the game, many criticized his performance. His mother Pilar Sanders, who is also the ex-wife of his father Deion Sanders, came out to support him. She posted a supportive message on her Instagram story on August 15, where she shared a clip of her son’s pass to Floriea. She also wrote, “Focus on your Focus. Nevermind the chit chatter.”
As for Shedeur, he spoke about his performance after the game and addressed his shortcomings.

Shedeur took responsibility for his poor game against the Bears, and admitted that his interception was due to a slip. He said, “It just slipped. That’s what makes me be mad a little bit because of it. I just didn’t execute the decision, but the right decision was made.”
He added, “Obviously, turning the ball over and all that stuff is not great, and it won’t survive a long time in the league doing that. But, as long as my eyes and my feet and everything was in the right place, being able to execute, it just may happen.”
