Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo will share the minutes at centre-back as both make their unofficial debuts vs. Como.
Jacquet and Araujo will play 45 minutes each alongside Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool host Como at Anfield on Sunday evening.
The pair are making their first appearances for Liverpool since moves from Rennes and Barcelona respectively this summer.
Araujo comes into the squad immediately after his loan switch from Barcelona, while Jacquet is able to feature for the first time having seen his fitness managed throughout pre-season.
It is Jacquet who starts the game and that could hint at Iraola’s plan for the Premier League opener at Newcastle on August 23.

However, with the head coach confirming in his pre-match interview with LFCTV that they will be given a half each, there could be an opportunity for Araujo to stake his claim instead.
Araujo certainly has the most experience and could complement Van Dijk well, particularly given the similarities in his game when held up to Ibrahima Konate.
But Jacquet – as with last summer’s arrival Giovanni Leoni – is considered the future of Liverpool’s defence and all efforts will be made to integrate him as soon as possible.
