Chelsea set£60m Nicolas Jackson price as three clubs circle

Nicolas Jackson’s Chelsea future is back under the spotlight with Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Atlético Madrid reportedly monitoring the striker.

Chelsea value the Senegal international at around £60million (€69m), according to reporting attributed to Fabrice Hawkins, with that figure currently proving a major obstacle for interested clubs.

Jackson has returned to Stamford Bridge following his season-long loan at Bayern Munich, but competition for attacking places has increased significantly under Xabi Alonso.

Nicolas Jackson transfer race grows as Chelsea set price

Tottenham have previously been linked with Jackson, but the latest development broadens the picture considerably.

Aston Villa remain among the clubs monitoring his situation, while Atlético Madrid have now emerged as another potential destination. Spanish outlet AS reports that Jackson is one of the attacking options being considered by Atlético, although there are currently no advanced negotiations.

That makes Chelsea’s valuation particularly significant.

Rather than needing to accept a cut-price departure, the Blues retain considerable negotiating power. Jackson signed a contract extension in September 2024 which keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

ReadChelsea previously reported that Jackson wanted another opportunity to impress Xabi Alonso after returning from Bayern, despite existing Aston Villa interest.

Chelsea can afford to wait over Jackson decision

The situation has changed since then.

Chelsea’s attacking options have become increasingly crowded, leaving Jackson competing for his place rather than returning automatically as the club’s first-choice striker.

Villa have already discussed Jackson during transfer conversations with Chelsea this summer, as Fabrizio Romano previously revealed when the clubs held talks over attacking options.

Tottenham and Atlético entering the picture could potentially strengthen Chelsea’s negotiating position, although there is no report of a formal bid from any of the three clubs at this stage.

For Chelsea, the question is therefore less about needing to sell Jackson and more about whether one of his suitors is prepared to come close to the club’s £60m valuation before the window closes.
