Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool player left out of squad after reports of a transfer

Liverpool played out a 0-0 draw against Como behind closed doors earlier today and are currently taking on the Serie A side again.

The Reds are stepping up their preparations for the new season, but it appears as if one of Andoni Iraola’s players is surely headed out the door.

Curtis Jones has been left out of the squad for both games. There have been no reports of an injury, with the midfielder training on his own at the AXA Training Centre.

And now, Fabrizio Romano says Inter Milan are still looking to secure his signature this summer.

Fabrizio Romano on Curtis Jones leaving Liverpool

He wrote on X: “Curtis Jones, out of both friendly games for Liverpool today.

“Inter remain keen on the English midfielder with a new bid anticipated; the deal depends on club-to-club talks as the player wants the move.”

The Serie A champions have also sold Davide Frattesi to Lazio, which has opened up a spot to recruit Jones.

The young Scouser has been a useful player for Liverpool over the years and it will no doubt be a blow to lose him and sign a replacement.

However, Liverpool have lost too many players for free in recent years, so getting a fee for Jones could well be a silver lining.
