Jeremy Jacquet has had an Anfield debut to remember as he left the field after 45 minutes with his Liverpool side 2-0 ahead.
His debut went so well that he even scored his first Liverpool goal.
Jacquet gained the attention of the Anfield crowd in his warm up after an outrageous touch when practicing his long-range passing.
Story of the match for Jacquet
It didn’t take Jacquet long to get out under pressure. 20 seconds into the game the debutant was put under pressure as a ball went behind him.
Instead of taking the safe option and potentially clearing the ball for a throw-in, he turned and carried the ball out. He got past the pressing man and then another two as he got out of danger, keeping possession.
Jacquet continued to impress with a tackle just before the 15 minute mark. The sliding challenge saw the defender win the ball and then retain possession to carry it away to safety.
By 37 minutes, fans were convinced and were chanting his name as he made another powerful challenge, winning the ball.
The cherry was put on top of the cake when he was found by Cody Gakpo at the back post to score his first goal in a Liverpool shirt.
A debut to remember.
