Everton contact Tottenham over Richarlison as £20m valuation gap stalls potential reunion.
According to transfer insider Krrish on X, Everton have formally made contact with Tottenham Hotspur within the last 48 hours to explore a potential deal for Brazilian forward Richarlison. The Toffees are actively examining the financial conditions surrounding a reunion with their former star player as they look to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Tottenham Hotspur remain open to sanctioning Richarlison’s departure during the current summer window, but only if an incoming proposal meets their specific financial demands.
A substantial divide currently exists between the valuations of the two Premier League clubs. Tottenham Hotspur are holding firm for a total package worth between £35 million and £40 million including performance-related add-ons, and they are unwilling to entertain offers below that threshold at present.
Conversely, Everton currently value the 29-year-old forward in the region of £15 million to £20 million. This creates a massive £20 million valuation disparity, and Goodison Park executives are currently not convinced about paying above their internal assessment to complete the transfer.
Current Negotiations and Transfer Outlook
At this stage, there is no formal agreement or advanced negotiation taking place between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton. The Everton hierarchy is carefully studying the overall financial implications before deciding whether to launch a structured bid. Richarlison originally departed Everton for Tottenham in the summer of 2022 in a deal valued up to £60 million. Although the Brazilian attacker recently featured and scored in Spurs’ pre-season victory over TSG Hoffenheim, Tottenham are actively rebuilding their forward unit under head coach Roberto De Zerbi. With North London officials pursuing high-profile wingers such as Savinho and Cody Gakpo, Spurs are receptive to raising funds through player sales, provided Everton increase their offer or Tottenham adjust their asking price.
