Arsenal delivered a statement win in the season curtain-raiser against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Riccardo Calafiori put the Gunners 1-0 up inside the first minute, slotting home after a delightful through ball from Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Mikel Arteta’s side doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark, with Kai Havertz putting away a header after some good work from debutant Christos Tzolis. The Greek then grabbed his second assist just after the interval, passing to captain Martin Odegaard, who coolly finished past Gianluigi Donnarumma to seal victory.
