Super Bowl 50 MVP and linebacker Von Miller has agreed to terms with his hometown team, the Dallas Cowboys, the team confirmed Sunday.

Miller also confirmed his decision on social media, writing, “Dallas! Let’s make this one special!”

In his 14-year NFL career, Miller has collected 138.5 sacks, making him the league’s active leader in the category. He is tied with former Cowboys player DeMarcus Ware for ninth place in NFL history.

Last season, in his lone year with the Washington Commanders, Miller tallied nine sacks, along with 26 tackles and six tackles for loss. He hit the quarterback 15 times. He started his career in 2011 as the second overall pick of the Denver Broncos, where he won a Super Bowl in 2016. He won another with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Prior to his year in Washington, he spent three years with the Buffalo Bills.

Miller came to College Station from DeSoto High School in a suburb of Dallas. From 2007 to 2010, Miller tallied 33 sacks and 50.5 tackles for loss for the Aggies. He is fifth all-time with the Aggies in career sacks, behind Aaron Wallace (42), Jacob Green (37), John Roper (36) and Keith Mitchell (34).

In 2009, he led the NCAA with 17 sacks, which is second in A&M history.

In April, Miller was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, four years after he was inducted into the Texas A&M athletics Hall of Fame.

He has remained connected to the Brazos Valley throughout his NFL career through his Von’s Vision charity, which provides eye exams and glasses for low-income students at A&M.

The Cowboys open their season Sept. 13 on the road against the New York Giants. His first game back home at AT&T Stadium is slated for Sept. 20 against the Commanders.
