Bradley Barcola to Liverpool has gained fresh momentum after RMCsport reported that the 23-year-old winger missed Paris Saint-Germain’s match sheet for Sunday’s Trophée des champions against Lens. The report, relayed by TransferFeed, says Barcola and fellow winger Ibrahim Mbaye are leaving PSG, with Liverpool still keen on recruiting both players.
That omission matters because Barcola had already failed to feature in PSG’s 2-1 UEFA Super Cup victory over Aston Villa. Liverpool have maintained their interest despite the sizeable valuation previously attached to the France international, while reports suggest PSG could accept around £125m rather than the earlier £145m figure.
According to the RMCsport report, talks will continue next week, giving Liverpool another chance to advance the deal. PSG have strengthened their forward line with Ferran Torres, while they have also signed Ajax winger Mika Godts, and those moves make Barcola’s reduced role easier to explain. Torres completed his PSG move on a contract running until 2031.
Bradley Barcola to Liverpool looks increasingly plausible
For me, Barcola’s actual production matters more than the noise around his valuation. He scored 11 goals and supplied one assist in 29 Ligue 1 appearances during 2025/26, then added two goals and four assists across 16 Champions League matches. Those numbers show a forward who can produce against elite opposition, while his pace offers Liverpool another threat.
Liverpool need attacking quality after Mohamed Salah’s departure, and Barcola offers experience with further room to grow. At 23, he can contribute without arriving as a raw prospect. Personal terms reportedly look close, yet the transfer fee remains the decisive issue. Liverpool have already spent heavily, so paying anything close to PSG’s original £145m demand would require a major commitment.
Bradley Barcola to Liverpool could hinge on PSG’s reshuffle
PSG’s recruitment strengthens the case for an exit after Torres arrived and the club signed Godts. That doesn’t guarantee a sale, though. Barcola still has a contract until 2028, so PSG hold contractual leverage even while squad selection creates pressure.

Leaving him off the Lens match sheet sends a louder message than transfer gossip. Liverpool now have a reason to keep talks moving, and a lower fee would turn this from an ambitious pursuit into a genuinely workable late-window deal. The next discussions matter because PSG’s asking price remains the main obstacle.
