Manchester City withdraw interest in signing– Rivals reach agreement

Manchester City have expressed interest in Chelsea‘s Pedro Neto, and he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

New Citizens manager Enzo Maresca managed the forward at Chelsea. He scored 15 goals and contributed 17 assists from 77 matches under the former Blues boss.

Maresca could lead Manchester City’s pursuit of signing the Chelsea player this summer.

Manchester City keen on Chelsea man

The latest claims from the UK have talked about the Etihad club wanting to sign the 27-year-old. Al-Hilal have also shown keen interest in him.

Sada, an outlet local to the Saudi club, backs up Manchester City’s interest in the Chelsea man when reporting the latest on Al-Hilal.

Malcom’s future at the Middle East club is uncertain and his compatriot, Savinho, could leave the Etihad. Therefore, both Al-Hilal and the Citizens are focusing on the Portugal international.

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the Manchester City player. Last week, Sport Witness exclusively revealed Savinho has already held talks with Roberto De Zerbi.

Why Manchester City give up

Al-Hilal have been ahead of Enzo Maresca’s side in the signing race.

In fact, the former have an advantage, after Manchester City withdrew from the battle because of Chelsea’s high demand of €60-70m.

The Saudi club have already reached an agreement with Pedro Neto for personal terms. They are currently negotiating with Chelsea to finalise the operation.

Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report about Al-Hilal and the former Wolves man’s agreement.

He adds Simone Inzaghi’s side have launched an attempt to close the deal with the Blues. It’s unclear whether the two clubs, who are in contact, can find an agreement. Longari reports Savinho is the ‘strong alternative’ for Neto.

Manchester City will keep a close watch on Neto’s situation, to see if they can re-enter the race.
