Everton eye Arsenal right-back as Konsa domino set to fall

Everton’s search for a new right-back could be about to take an unexpected turn towards Arsenal, with Ben White emerging as the club’s latest target.

According to Football Insider, Everton are ready to move for White once Arsenal complete the signing of Ezri Konsa, with the 28-year-old open to joining the Toffees as he looks to return to regular first-team football. Konsa’s move to Arsenal is understood to be “99 per cent done,” with talks over a fee in the region of £60-65m.

It’s a deal that would solve two problems at once. Everton have spent much of the summer chasing full-back reinforcements, and White’s versatility across right-back and central defence would cover both bases in a single signing. Djed Spence looks set for Inter Milan, and Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, so the right-back list is shrinking fast.

There are real caveats here, though. White made just 12 Premier League appearances last season after a serious knee injury, and only 17 the campaign before that. His medial ligament injury against West Ham ended his season in May, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign. Everton would need real assurances on fitness before committing, given the pattern.

Nothing moves here until Konsa’s Arsenal switch is confirmed — worth treating as a domino effect rather than an active pursuit for now.
