Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique issued a spiky response as he sidestepped questions over Liverpool transfer targets Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. The duo were named in the travelling party for their Trophee des Champions clash with Lens, however, both were left in the cold for the 20-man squad.
The Reds have made Barcola a priority signing this summer, with talks taking place over a deal. The French international is said to be keen on a move to Merseyside after finding playing time hard to comeby in the French capital.
Enrique's side are standing firm on their eye-watering £130million and Liverpool would need the two-time Champions League winners to budge on their valuation.
After PSG's 1-0 defeat, Enrique failed to be drawn on transfer speculation. He said: "I'll talk about the transfer window when it's closed.
"Not before and not after. Since it's almost over, I'll talk about everything."
He was then asked whether Mbaye and Barcola would leave the club, he replied: "Thank you, goodbye."
The future of the PSG duo remains unclear after a spate of movement from the Parisiens during the summer transfer window. Spain World Cup hero Ferran Torres was one of the latest arrivals at the Parc des Princes after completing a £43million move from La Liga champions Barcelona.
Twenty-one-year-old Mika Godts followed suit with Enrique's side winning the race to sign the highly-rated Belgian from Dutch giants Ajax. Liverpool had enquired about AS Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche earlier in the transfer window as they navigated the market for forwards.
However, the 24-year-old swapped the Principality for the capital in a move worth a reported £42million. Before the glut of transfer business, Barcola failed to cement his place as a starting forward with the likes of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia starring for the Ligue 1 juggernauts.
