Curtis Jones has been described as “doing everything he can” to complete a transfer from Liverpool to Inter Milan before the deadline in two weeks.
Jones did not feature in either friendly against Como, after also missing Monaco’s visit a week prior due to what Andoni Iraola described as a hip injury.
This Is Anfield understands Jones took part in an individual session at the AXA instead of featuring in either of the final pre-season games on Sunday.
It only heightened transfer speculation, with Inter expected to make a fresh attempt at reaching an agreement with Liverpool, with the reported asking price claimed to have dropped to around €35 million (£29.9m).
Fabrizio Romano explained on his YouTube channel that Inter “are ready to ramp up their pursuit,” with Jones described as “doing everything he can – so to speak – to join Inter.”

Not featuring in recent friendly matches would fit under that umbrella despite the official line, though the midfielder is at the mercy of the two clubs finding common ground.
But with less than £5 million currently separating the two clubs at the negotiation table, it has become increasingly likely Jones will leave this summer.
With Inter having agreed to send midfielder Davide Frattesi on loan to Lazio, the Serie A side can focus on striking a deal ahead of the September 1 deadline.
While Jones’ ambitions to be a regular starter are understandable, Liverpool losing a local, homegrown player who offers value in multiple positions is a blow.
The 25-year-old made the most appearances in a single season at Liverpool in 2025/26 (49), though only 28 were as part of the starting XI.
He could follow Stefan Bajcetic out the exit door after Getafe opened talks for the midfielder, while Harvey Elliott‘s future also remains uncertain.
There has been little indication that the abovementioned exits would trigger a search for a midfielder in what remains of the window, though, with focus remaining on the attack.
