Xabi Alonso has several options for the right wing at Chelsea, including Estevao Willian.

Estevao, Pedro Neto and Geovany Quenda are all natural right wingers, while Cole Palmer can also start on the right flank.

Neto could join Al-Hilal, with Chelsea set to hold talks with the Saudi Arabian club this week.

There is no guarantee that Neto will leave Stamford Bridge. The 26-year-old could still remain at Chelsea, but he is at risk of becoming a back-up option.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Alonso has decided to put Estevao above Neto in the right-winger pecking order.

Last season, Neto was Chelsea’s main option for the right flank, although Estevao did get injured towards the end of the campaign.

In total, Neto made 34 appearances in the Premier League. Thirty of those appearances were starts, so he was a regular in the Chelsea first XI.

As for Estevao, he only made 22 league appearances and 12 starts before picking up a hamstring injury.

However, it looks like the Brazilian could be set to feature more under Alonso. Quenda will also be hoping for opportunities in the right-wing position this term.

Who Chelsea’s first choice right winger should be

A lot is going to depend on what formation Alonso uses and who remains at Chelsea beyond the transfer deadline.

In a 3-4-3 set-up, none of the above names will start. Palmer will be used on the right, while Morgan Rogers is deployed on the opposite flank.

However, in a 4-2-3-1 formation, it would be great to see a bit more of Estevao, who showed a lot of promise last season. The 19-year-old has all the attributes needed to become a world-class winger one day.

Estevao can run, dribble, shoot and is very confident. Yes, he did not score too many goals in the previous campaign, but some of his finishes were phenomenal. The Brazil international definitely has the talent to also develop into a goalscorer.
