Man Utd have entered the race for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.

Football Fancast claim that the Red Devils submitted an enquiry for the Nigerian international as they look to gauge how much a transfer would cost.

It is also believed that Osimhen has signalled his openness to making a switch to Old Trafford following discussions with his entourage.

United are said to be keen on adding another forward to the first-team squad before the transfer window shuts.

Arsenal have also been linked with Osimhen

Man Utd may have competition for the 27-year-old’s signature, with several outlets having confirmed that the Gunners made a similar enquiry last week.

Galatasaray had made approaches for two Arsenal players, Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, but discussions also centred on a potential deal for Osimhen.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like the Premier League champions or Michael Carrick’s side have tabled a formal bid, with both seemingly just exploring the possibility of a transfer at this stage.

Man Utd will face other obstacles in trying to land the striker

Osimhen’s salary demands could prove to be an issue. The Nigerian is said to be earning over £300,000 a week at Galatasaray. The Red Devils have been trying to reduce their wage bill over the last twelve months, having allowed Casemiro to leave despite having the option to keep him for another year.

His asking price is also expected to be pretty high. He only moved to Turkey from Napoli on a permanent basis for €75m (£64m) last summer.
