Everton return with improved offer for Turkish champions’ star winger

Everton have gone back in for Barış Alper Yılmaz, tabling an improved bid for the Galatasaray winger as David Moyes pushes to get a deal done before the window shuts.

According to Turkish journalist Yakup Çınar, Everton have returned with an official offer of €41m, up from the €35m verbal bid Galatasaray rejected earlier this month. It’s still short of what the Süper Lig champions are demanding, though — Galatasaray have set their asking price at €50m and the new offer reportedly hasn’t been enough to change their stance.

The two clubs are expected to sit down for further talks in the coming days, which should clarify whether Everton can either talk Galatasaray down or face having to meet their number in full.

The interest is easy to understand. Yılmaz produced 12 goals and 16 assists last season, numbers that have seen him attract interest from several clubs, with the 26-year-old himself said to be dreaming of a Premier League move. He can operate across the front line, which would give Moyes extra flexibility if Everton do find themselves playing in Europe next season.

His contract runs until 2028, and Transfermarkt currently values him at around €30m — a gap that may explain Galatasaray’s reluctance to budge much further. Worth noting this remains one journalist’s reporting out of Turkey rather than a confirmed figure from either club, so treat the exact number with some caution until it’s corroborated elsewhere.
