Liverpool has reportedly made an improved offer for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as the Reds continue their pursuit of the France international.

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from PSG this summer, with Liverpool emerging as the leading contender for his signature.

The situation has developed over the past month after Barcola rejected a contract extension. With two years remaining on his current deal, PSG is now considering whether to sell the winger rather than risk losing him later in his contract. With the Champions of Europe having already made three additions to their forward line since that decision, the possibility of the French winger leaving has increased further.

Liverpool has submitted an improved €135 million ($158 million) bid to PSG for Barcola. Barcola is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield, while Liverpool has significantly increased its offer after previous proposals were understood to be worth just over €100 million ($115 million). The Reds' latest bid is aimed at persuading PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sanction the 23-year-old's departure.

Liverpool's decision to increase their offer was reportedly aided by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos becoming involved in the club's ownership structure. Rather than immediately rejecting the $158 million proposal, PSG executives are now understood to be considering the bid.

PSG had previously valued Barcola at close to €150 million ($173 million), although senior figures at the club are now reportedly considering a lower fee in an effort to resolve the situation and avoid a repeat of the saga surrounding Kylian Mbappe's departure.

Luis Enrique declined to comment publicly on Barcola's future, but his decision to leave the winger out of the squad against Lens added to speculation surrounding a potential move.

Barcola was an unused substitute during the UEFA Super Cup final before being left out of PSG's squad altogether for the Trophée des Champions against Lens.

The Liverpool target watched the match from the stands alongside Ibrahim Mbaye, another player reportedly on the Reds' radar. Barcola kept his head down and avoided reporters as he left the stadium, adding to speculation that his time in Paris could be coming to an end.

It remains unclear whether this was Barcola's final appearance with the European champions, with the transfer deadline approaching. However, a deal of this size could still take time to complete. Enrique has not ruled out departures, while Liverpool continues to pursue both players at a price that works for the club.

Arsenal has also been linked with Barcola, but a move to the Emirates Stadium does not currently appear to be a realistic possibility. The Gunners are understood to hold an interest in the winger, although no club-to-club talks have taken place. An agreement also appears unlikely at this stage, with Liverpool reportedly further along in negotiations with the two-time European champions.
