**Over the past month or so, we’d like to think there hasn’t been a single update involving Bradley Barcola we haven’t covered on here.**
Liverpool remain locked in talks to sign him from PSG, with the Reds also interested in signing his teammate Ibrahim Mbaye.
PSG have thus far stood firm on their asking price and haven’t used Barcola in either of their two games this season.
And now, a source close to the club has confirmed via L’Equipe that the Parisian giants are protecting their player amid transfer speculation with Liverpool.
“It’s our son and we want to protect him. There are studies that show that when a player is mentally disturbed, the risk of injury is higher,” said the PSG source via [L’Equipe](https://x.com/AnfieldSector/status/2089405078654308671?s=20).
“It’s a decision by the coach, but it’s also because Bradley is not 100% available.”
The report also mentions that if Barcola doesn’t get his desired move to Liverpool this summer, he would be happy to remain at PSG and crack on during the 2026-27 season.
We can’t really blame a player for trying to honour his contract, but for the sake of our season, let’s hope Liverpool and PSG agree a fee for Barcola this summer.
