Jofre Torrents has completed his move from Barcelona to Ajax and been unveiled as a new signing at the Eredivisie side.
The young defender has signed a contract with the club until 2030 and joins Marc-Andre ter Stegen in swapping Barcelona for Ajax this summer.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff is delighted to have snapped up the talented youngster.
He told the club’s website: “Jofre is a highly talented player who has developed strongly over the past few years. We are delighted to have secured his signing for Ajax. A number of clubs were interested in him, but he made a very conscious decision to choose our plans and vision. We look forward to taking the next steps together with him.”
Barcelona added: “FC Barcelona would like to thank Jofre Torrents for his commitment, professionalism and dedication throughout all these years representing the Club, and wishes him the very best of luck and every success in this new stage of his professional career.”
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will earn approximately 6 million euros from the transfer and have also retained 50% of the player’s rights.
