Liverpool reach agreement with Ibrahim Mbaye

Ibrahim Mbaye has reportedly been told he can leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with Liverpool pushing to sign the winger.

The 18-year-old has faced an uncertain future, with two years remaining on his contract and doubts over his playing time.

Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Mbaye, who could provide cover on the right wing following Mohamed Salah’s departure. PSG have also been linked with the sale of Bradley Barcola, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the Frenchman.

The Parisians have strengthened their attack with the additions of Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, potentially paving the way for further departures.

Mbaye and Barcola were both omitted from PSG’s latest squad to face Lens, further fuelling speculation that they could leave the club this summer.

According to RMC Sport, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Ibrahim Mbaye over personal terms, with the two parties agreeing on a five-year contract. Mbaye has chosen Liverpool and does not wish to pursue interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds are looking to strengthen their right flank and will accelerate talks with the French club in an attempt to reach an agreement.

Bayer Leverkusen, who were initially linked with Mbaye, will not be signing the teenager and are no longer expected to pursue a deal.

Several clubs, however, appear to be in the race for Ibrahim Mbaye. Reports suggest Manchester United are among eight teams interested in the Senegalese forward, adding further competition for his signature. Mbaye made 28 senior appearances for PSG last season but is seeking a bigger role moving forward.

He has primarily played on the right but can operate across the forward line, making him a versatile option for Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool side. Liverpool now face a busy few weeks as they look to finalise their attacking options ahead of the new season.
