Speaking during a recent appearance on Steven McInerney’s 'The City Social' podcast, MailSport’s Jack Gaughan has issued an update on where Manchester City bosses stand as far as the signing of a new winger goes this summer.
Gaughan has revealed that Hugo Viana - the club's sporting director - will enter the market for a new wide attacker if Savinho leaves, with Tottenham having met an impasse in talks with executives at the Etihad Stadium over a fee.
However, the Blues are yet to finalise a serious target in particular despite having explored a range of options in the opening months of the transfer window, including Wolverhampton Wanderers' Mateus Mane.

One could argue that in Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo, Enzo Maresca possesses as strong a winger pairing as any manager in European football, with Manchester City having recruited the latter from Bournemouth in January.
Academy starlet Ryan McAidoo looks set to be integrated into the first-team after shining in pre-season in east Asia, and Maresca is intent on having the young Englishman at his disposal in training throughout the course of the forthcoming season.
