"He's going to add a lot," Dallas Cowboys head coach praises signing of future Pro Football Hall of Famer 1
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a vastly unpopular move last year by trading All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. But while fans did not like his decision, the Cowboys owner/general manager has been working hard at building what he hopes will be a much-improved defense in 2026.
In return for Parsons, Dallas received Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark. This off-season, they have also added defensive coordinator Christian Parker, pass rusher Rashan Gary, and used their top draft pick on safety Caleb Downs.
Over the weekend, they also signed future Pro Football Hall of Fame pass rusher Von Miller.

Miller played for the Washington Commanders last season. They, of course, are one of Dallas’ biggest rivals as they are in the same division, the NFC East.
Despite playing in his age 36 season last year, Miller had 9.0 sacks and played in all 17 games. However, his days as a dominant starter and every-down player are over. He played just 37% of Washington’s defensive snaps in 2025, but was still able to record his highest single-season sack total since 2021.
On Monday, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer had this to say about Miller’s signing:
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer on Von Miller: “He’s going to add a lot, on the field and off. … You can never have enough pass rushers.”

Miller is the NFL’s active leader in career sacks with 138.5. This already ranks ninth all-time, and another productive season in Dallas could boost him up even higher on the top-ten list.
Within grasp are Terrell Suggs (139.0), Jason Taylor (139.5), and Michael Strahan (141.5).
Due to his age, Miller should be used as a reserve pass rusher again this year. That being said, he proved that he can thrive in such a role with his 9.0-sack 2025 season. If he can match that in Dallas, this will be an excellent signing for Jones.
