Super Bowl-winning QB should be on Browns wishlist after latest prediction

Super Bowl-winning QB should be on Browns wishlist after latest prediction image

The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation continues to be the most talked-about in the NFL, though it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.

If the answer is Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson in the short or long term, there will be more questions than answers.

The Browns just haven't been able to figure it out on that side of the ball, though it's very possible they could find themselves in a good quarterback situation, depending on whether a team is willing to move on from its current franchise quarterback.

One ESPN reporter recently suggested that Sam Darnold won't be on the team following the 2028 season. I know that most Browns fans won't want to wait until 2028 to get a franchise quarterback, but Darnold would be a perfect option for this organization.

“Darnold will not be on the Seahawks in 2028,” Seth Walder wrote. “He started last season red-hot and finished fairly strong in Seattle’s Super Bowl run.

“But from Weeks 10 to 18, he ranked 27th out of 30 quarterbacks in QBR. The Super Bowl win certainly will buy Darnold time. But if he stumbles in 2027, I don’t think there are guarantees that he will be re-signed.”

I know most Browns fans are going to say they don't want a player like Darnold because they want a guaranteed star who can come in and make a major impact on offense, but I think it's better to look at what they currently have.

There's absolutely no debate that Darnold would be much better than what they currently have, even in a few seasons.
