Buffalo Bills stun Panthers 14-29 in Josh Allen-less preseason clash
After the touchdown at the end of the game, the match ended with the Buffalo Bills' victory over the Carolina Panthers, in a wide score, with the score at 29 to 14, with all quarters receiving points from the Bills, while the Panthers scored their TDs in the second and last quarter!
The Panthers got the touchdown! At that moment, where they managed to reach the attacking field, the Panthers stopped on a 1st & goal at the nine-yard line, with Trask finding the pass for Metchie to go to the end zone, with the touchdown!
After the last touchdown, the Panthers kept their attack on the field, controlling the clock and entering the two-minute warning with possession in the attacking field, on the 34-yard line, trying to score at the end of the game.
Trask attempted the pass and was intercepted by Walker, who fell to the offensive 22-yard line. The play continued until 2nd & goal at the three-yard line, where Gore took off for the end zone, with the touchdown! Bass kicked the extra point, confirming another point, putting the score at 29 to 7!
Starting the campaign on the offensive field, the Bills came up with a 1st & goal at the six-yard line, where Wheeler got the run for the touchdown! Buechele attempted the pass on the two-point conversion, but missed the pass, keeping the score at 22-7!
On a 4th & 7, the Panthers attempted a play at the 41-yard line, where Pickett was sacked, losing possession at the 49-yard line, giving the Bills possession again on offense and a chance to score once more in the game!
After the field goal, the Panthers continued with possession and began the last quarter of the match, keeping the ball in their possession to reach the attacking field, starting the quarter at the 47-yard line, in a 2nd & 13 to try to score early!
The Bills made great offensive progress on a drive that lasted just over four minutes, stopping on fourth down and seven yards to go at the 11-yard line, where Bass kicked a 29-yard field goal, putting the score at 16-7 for the Bills!
With a drive lasting almost nine minutes, the Panthers failed to score. Stopping at the 19-yard line on offense, on a 4th & 2, the Panthers attempted a field goal instead of a field goal, where Pickett missed the pass, thus losing possession to the Bills.
The Carolina Panthers began their drive with slow progress, but managed to get into the offensive zone. The Panthers maintained their drive, moving the ball forward and running down the clock, by then with four minutes of possession and at the 50-yard line.
The players returned to the field and we had the start of the third quarter of the NFL preseason game between both sides. After the kickoff, the Panthers began the quarter with possession at the 28-yard line!
In a dominated first quarter, the Bills opened with a 10-0 lead and added a field goal in the second quarter to go up 13-0. Then, at the end, the Panthers scored a touchdown, keeping the game alive for the second quarter, with the score at 13-7!
The first attack resulted in a 1st & goal on the two-yard line, which turned into a 2nd & goal on the six-yard line and a touchdown! Pickett completed the pass for Reed to run six yards for the touchdown! Fitzgerald kicked the field goal, narrowing the score to 13-7!
The Carolina Panthers continued their drive, but were unable to get out of their own field. We went to the Two Minute Warning, where the Panthers had possession on 3rd & 6 at the 21-yard line to try and go on offense for the first time in the game.
With a drive lasting almost seven minutes, controlling the clock and advancing just a few yards at a time to reach a 4th & 17 on the 28-yard line, they then kicked another field goal, which Bass converted from 46 yards, making the score 13-0!
Once again, the Panthers failed to get out of their own field, stopping at the 33-yard line on 4th & 12, where they punted, giving possession back to the Bills, who had a new possession, now at the 22-yard line of their own field.
Stopping on 4th & 4, the Bills were on the 26-yard line, where Bass attempted a 45-yard field goal, sending the ball wide to the right, keeping the score at 10-0 with the missed field goal early in the second quarter!
In a first quarter of four drives, the Bills opened the scoring with a field goal, then the Panthers punted to give the Bills a touchdown. The Panthers then punted again, and the Bills, maintaining possession, started the second quarter at the 38-yard line.
The Panthers once again attempted to advance on a short drive, but failed to get out of their own defensive zone, eventually punting after being stopped at a 4th & 2 line on the 38-yard line, giving possession back to the Bills, who began their drive on the 17-yard line.
With great progress down the field, the Buffalo Bills managed to get a 1st & goal on the nine-yard line, in a drive lasting over five minutes, for Josh Allen to throw the ball to Coleman who ran into the end zone for a touchdown! Bass converted the extra point, making the score 10-0!
The Carolina Panthers, on their first drive of the game, stopped at their own 43-yard line, where they lined up in a 4th & 4 situation to punt, giving the ball back to the Bills, who would have possession at their own 20-yard line.
And in the first drive of the game, the Buffalo Bills were ahead on the scoreboard! Stopped at a 4th & 12 on the 15-yard line, the Bills decided to kick a field goal, with Bass making it 33 yards to put the score at 3-0 at that early stage!
The players took to the field and the game began, with all the plays, points, and excitement of this Week 2 NFL preseason matchup! After the kickoff, the Bills started with the ball at their own 35-yard line!
At 3 PM that day we had two more games, where the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Los Angeles Rams, while the New Orleans Saints faced the Jacksonville Jaguars. At 6 PM we continued with another game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles. Finally, at 7 PM, we had the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. American Football
That day, kicking off Saturday's games, we had the New York Giants facing the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears playing against the Cleveland Browns, with those two games taking place at the same time as this game.
The day before, three other games took place following this pre-season, where the Commanders beat the Dolphins 20-7, while the Broncos beat the Falcons 27-7 and the Buccaneers beat the Jets 24-16 on the scoreboard, thus closing Friday's games (14).
Six games took place on Thursday (13), with the following results in this NFL preseason: Bengals 16-14 Lions, Steelers 18-9 Packers, Patriots 13-13 Colts, Texans 7-27 Chargers, Raiders 14-27 Cardinals and 49ers 13-19 Titans.
That day we continued with week 2 of the NFL preseason. Week 1 took place on Thursday (6), where only one game was played, with the Carolina Panthers beating the Arizona Cardinals 33-30, thus closing the opening game of the preseason.
Also on Saturday, at 7:30 pm, we would have another game, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Kansas City Chiefs. Closing out Saturday's games, the Arizona Cardinals were set to face the Dallas Cowboys. Finally, on Sunday (23), at 8 pm, the Tennessee Titans were due to play against the Seattle Seahawks.
Continuing with Saturday's games, at 4 PM we would have Miami Dolphins vs. New York Giants and New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams. Then at 7 PM we would have two more games, with Cincinnati Bengals vs. Chicago Bears and New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles.
On Saturday (22) we would have many games. At 12:00 we would have Detroit Lions facing Washington Commanders. 1 hour later we would have three more games, with Indianapolis Colts vs Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns vs Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens.
On Friday (21) we would have three more games, where the Pittsburgh Steelers were set to face the New York Jets at 7pm. 30 minutes later we would have the Jacksonville Jaguars facing the Carolina Panthers and, at 9pm, we would have Denver Broncos playing against Green Bay Packers.
We took a 'time jump' to Thursday (20), where the Houston Texans would face the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers would play against the San Francisco 49ers, thus closing the first day of games in Week 3.

In this season's Draft, the Bills selected the following players: TJ Parker (Edge), Davison Igbinosun (CB), Juyde Bowry (OT), Skyler Bell (WR), Kaleb Elarms-Orr (LB), Jalon Kilgore (S), Zane Durant (DT), Toriano Pride Jr (CB), Tommy Doman (P), and Ar’maj Reed-Adams (OG). The Panthers drafted Monroe Freeling (OT), Lee Hunter (DT), Chris Brazzell (WR), Will Lee (CB), Sam Hecht (Center), Zakee Wheatley (S), and Jackson Kuwatch (LB).
For the game, the Panthers were without Tershawn Wharton, Chris Brazzell, Dan Chisena, Nic Scourton, Ikem Ekwonu, and Taylor Moton, all injured, in addition to Thomas Incoom, Damien Lewis, and Darren Waller being listed as questionable for the matchup.
On the other hand, the Buffalo Bills finished second in the AFC East Conference with 12 wins and five losses, qualifying for the Wild Card, behind the Patriots, who had 14 wins and three losses and advanced to the conference semifinals. Furthermore, the Bills finished ahead of the Dolphins, with seven wins and 10 losses, and the Jets, with three wins and 14 losses.
In the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers led the conference with eight wins and nine losses, qualifying for the Wild Card, tied with the Buccaneers and Falcons, and ahead of the Saints, who had six wins and 11 losses, all of whom were eliminated in the regular season.
The Carolina Panthers had two wins and three losses. On December 21st, they won 23-20 against the Buccaneers. On the 28th, they lost 27-10 to the Seahawks. On January 3rd, they lost 16-14 to the Buccaneers. Finally, on the 10th, they lost 34-31 to the Rams in the Wild Card game, finishing the season 25-26. And on Thursday (6th), they won 33-30 against the Cardinals in this NFL preseason.
The Buffalo Bills ended the season with two losses and three wins in their last games. On December 21st, by 23 to 20, the victory came over the Browns. On the 28th, by 13 to 12, the defeat came to the Eagles. On January 4th, by 35 to 8, the victory came over the Jets. On the 11th, by 27 to 24, the victory came over the Jaguars in the Wild Card. And on the 17th, by 33 to 30, the defeat came to the Broncos in the Conference Semifinal.
