Everton boss David Moyes has been very quiet during pre-season and the summer transfer window.

Everton manager David Moyes has spoken out for the first time in the summer transfer window, discussing recruitment, Jack Grealish, and where the squad is currently at.
The Toffees have made just three new additions to the squad from last season, with Brennan Johnson, Christian Norgaard, and Hayden Hackney arriving through the door.
Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George have also signed permanent deals, but the duo were at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last season on loan.
Everton appear to be in the market for further reinforcements in the final weeks of the transfer window, with the right-back position a key area that the club are looking to strengthen in.
There are only a few days before the Premier League returns, with Everton hosting Crystal Palace, but there are still a few weeks remaining before the transfer window slams shut.
During pre-season, Moyes has opted against speaking to the media, whether that be through official club channels or external media, until now.
The Scottish manager has finally spoken out, discussing a number of different topics.
David Moyes speaks out on Everton's summer
Speaking to Sky Sports, Moyes is first asked about the current shape of the squad, and the Everton boss admitted that he'd like to see 'quite a few' players arrive through the door.
"We’re still needing quite a few players to add to the squad. I’d like to do more if possible, we need to see how the remaining few weeks go."
Moyes also discusses the prospect of Jack Grealish returning to Everton after being pushed by Sky Sports journalist Vinny O'Connor about a possible deal, but the Scotsman refused to engage in talks about players who are playing for other clubs at the moment.
"No, not at the moment. It’s not for me to talk, Jack’s a player at Man City and I don’t think it’s right to talk about players at other clubs."
When asked what positions Everton could look to strengthen in the final weeks, it was another vague answer from Moyes, who is clearly not looking to give much away.
"I’m not going to tell you. But we’re well aware of what’s required and we’re working hard to try and make it happen."
Moyes does admit that he's played with the players that have been brought in, but he points to the fact that two of those, Rohl and George, were already here last season anyway.
"I’m pleased with the players we’ve brought in. You have to remember that two of them were already here last year, so we’ve just made them permanent.
"I think it will take Hayden [Hackney] a little bit of time to adapt from the Championship to the Premier League, which quite often it does with players coming from the Championship. Christian is very experienced and will help us replace Idrissa Gueye, but unfortunately he’s injured at the moment."
Moyes then reiterates that he feels Everton have to do an 'awful lot more' in the market in order to achieve their goals heading into the new season.
"Brennan has just come in on the back of the swap deal for Dwight (McNeil). So, look, we’re putting things together but we certainly feel behind the scenes that we’ve got a long way to go and need to do an awful lot more."
It certainly feels like Moyes could be looking to push the recruitment team into bringing in more additions. It'll be interesting to discover where Moyes is so desperate to strengthen, as we're fairly well-stocked in a lot of areas, considering the manager has claimed we need to do an 'awful lot more'.
The right-back issue is glaring, but Moyes clearly wants reinforcements in a host of different areas over the coming weeks.
