An eventful transfer window at Chelsea has taken a fresh twist with reports that Todd Boehly and Mark Walter are in talks to sell their stakes to Clearlake Capital.
Private equity company Clearlake owns 61.5 per cent of the club, with Boehly and Walter carving up the remaining shares with another investor, Hansjorg Wyss. Chairman Boehly has reportedly been dissatisfied with the club's recent direction, including regarding transfer strategy.
The Blues have ditched their under-25 transfer policy by bringing in experienced heads like Jordan Henderson, Danny Welbeck and Maxence Lacroix, while Morgan Rogers has arrived for a club record fee.
Meanwhile, the Enzo Fernandez saga drags on. The Argentina star may have moved a step closer to leaving the club after Manchester City struck a deal to sell Rodri to Barcelona.
Numerous other players could be heading for the exit door, either on loan or permanently, while the Blues are still looking to add a few more signings before the end of the window.
