Arsenal Squad Numbers Confirmed for 2026/27 Season

Several of Arsenal’s summer additions have taken new numbers, although Mikel Arteta’s final squad can still change before deadline day.

Arsenal have now confirmed their squad numbers for the 2026/27 season, with the latest arrivals settling into their new shirts as the Premier League campaign draws closer.

Bruno Guimaraes retains his favourite No.39 shirt, following his £75 million move from Newcastle United. The Brazilian midfielder has long had a personal attachment to the number, one picked by his father when he was a young player.

Christos Tzolis, arriving from Club Brugge, takes up No.17, while Illan Meslier, the new face between the posts, will be seen in No.30.

Piero Hincapie, whose loan from Bayer Leverkusen became a permanent deal this summer, sticks with the No.5 shirt he wore throughout last season.

Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson return to Arsenal from their loan spells to familiar territory: Vieira resumes with No.21, Nelson keeps hold of No.24. Both remain listed among Arteta’s options, according to the club’s official squad and retail updates.

Jakub Kiwior, Christian Norgaard and Leandro Trossard’s exits mean that 15, 16 and 19 up for grabs

Arsenal’s Squad Could Still Change

The numbers are set for now, but Arsenal’s squad is still a work in progress.

With the summer transfer window open until 11pm BST on Tuesday, September 1, Arsenal still have over two weeks to finalise any further signings or departures. With Arteta making clear that Arsenal are remaining active in the market. Once the window has closed, clubs will re-submit their updated squad lists for the season.

It’s worth noting that the squad-number list is not the same as the final 25-man Premier League registration Arsenal will complete for the new season.

Youngsters like Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri, Dowman, Setford and Salmon are all eligible to feature for Arteta in that squad, without taking up a spot in the senior 25. Their shirt numbers don’t mean they fill one of those limited senior places.

Further transfer activity could still change up the shirt numbers before the window closes.
