Decisive offer on way to sign Liverpool player – Entourage building transfer

Curtis Jones’ situation at Liverpool continues to be uncertain, however, there is optimism that Inter Milan will sign him.

The Englishman was close to ending up at the Italian champions in January. A deal never materialised, as Davide Frattesi ended up staying at Inter and didn’t join Nottingham Forest.

The Italian has now joined Lazio, handing Inter some financial wiggle room for a midfield arrival.

Sport Witness have previously reported intermediaries are working on the move for Jones, and there’s confidence Liverpool’s demands will fall from €40m.

Manager Cristian Chivu has been assured that a new offer is coming.

Confidence growing about deal

Today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport explains the Liverpool player is the ‘ultimate transfer wish’ for Chivu. The Romanian has now been told that a new, decisive offer for the England man will be made soon.

The Reds have given up hope of Jones renewing. He wants the move to Inter and his social media activity is seen as a sign of that. He has rejected other destinations, having agreed personal terms with the Italian giants.

Inter believe a deal can now be done for between €30m and €35m. There have been new contacts between the Nerazzurri and Jones’ entourage and Chivu’s side are now waiting for exits.

Luis Henrique is on his way out. Inter are waiting for AS Roma to finalise their deal, subsequently they will then proceed with a formal offer for Jones.

Our take: Inter will move late

Inter’s strategy is clear. They want to have an easy deal and take advantage of Jones’ contract, which expires in 2027. Things are going in their direction and Beppe Marotta is no stranger to doing deals like this.

Liverpool might still prove to be a difficult club to deal with, though. They sell their players for major fees and that is why intermediaries – as mentioned earlier, are constantly working to reduce their demands.

Until then, Inter are playing the waiting game.
