The New York Jets received a major scare at Monday's training camp practice, when Breece Hall went down with a groin injury. The New York Post's Brian Costello shared on X that the injury occurred when Hall caught a routine swing pass before falling to the ground.
Initially, things felt bleak. Reporters on the scene described it as a groin injury, and Aaron Glenn confirmed as much shortly after practice ended. The Jets head coach stressed that he didn't think the injury was a big deal, but a further evaluation would provide more clarity on the severity.
Luckily, it sounds like the Jets dodged the worst-case scenario, as SNY's Connor Hughes reported on Monday evening that an MRI confirmed Hall's injury is "minor." The recently extended running back should be back for the start of the regular season.

Hughes shared further that it's a "big break" for the Jets, and "all indications" point to the fact that Hall will be ready to go by the time New York travels to Nashville, Tennessee, to face former head coach Robert Saleh and the Titans.
It's a better prognosis than initially feared. Sometimes groin injuries can sideline a player for months on end, but Hall's seems to be minor at best. Hopefully, it's not something that lingers into the season.
For now, expect a heavy dose of Braelon Allen running with the first team for the remainder of training camp and preseason. With Isaiah Davis sidelined as well, undrafted free agents Chip Trayanum and Sam Scott should get plenty of work as well.
Still, the Jets may be best served by adding another veteran to eat some carries for the remainder of August to keep the likes of Allen and Kene Nwangwu fresh for September.
Allen is coming off a fairly serious knee injury himself, and Nwangwu's lengthy injury history should give New York's coaching staff pause before giving him extended carries in a preseason game.
Instead, the Jets could look to the veteran market for a body to eat up reps for the remainder of August. Players like Nick Chubb, Miles Sanders, and Antonio Gibson all make sense as players who could be signed without worrying about them making too big a mark before the regular season.
Who knows, maybe they put enough good reps on tape to land with another team before Week 1 rolls around, and it's a win-win for all sides.
