Axel Disasi is closing in on a move away from Chelsea with an unnamed Premier League club now pushing to sign the defender.
Chelsea want around £25million for the France international but could compromise on the structure of the transfer if an outright sale cannot be agreed.
The Athletic’s Simon Johnson reports a loan containing either an obligation or option to buy could provide the solution.
For Chelsea, it would finally bring one of their longest-running defensive transfer sagas close to an end.

Axel Disasi Chelsea transfer moves closer
Chelsea and Disasi have been working towards a permanent separation throughout the summer.
Standard Sport previously reported that the Blues had set a £25m asking price, while Disasi wanted to remain in the Premier League or move abroad rather than drop into the Championship with former loan club West Ham.
He originally joined Chelsea from Monaco for around £38.8m in 2023, meaning a £25m sale would recover considerably less than the club’s initial outlay.
However, Chelsea’s priority increasingly appears to be creating a smaller defensive group for Xabi Alonso.
Benoit Badiashile is already heading towards a Napoli medical as Chelsea accelerate their centre-back clearout.
Disasi leaving would be another major step.
Chelsea could compromise to finally secure exit
Chelsea would prefer to bank their £25m valuation immediately, but a loan with a future purchase clause may represent the most realistic route.
That type of agreement has already attracted interest this summer. Crystal Palace were previously linked with a loan containing an obligation worth around Chelsea’s asking price.
ReadChelsea reported earlier this summer that Chelsea and Disasi had already agreed a permanent departure would suit all parties.
The difference now is proximity.
Johnson’s latest information suggests Disasi is no longer simply attracting enquiries.
