**Ex-Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes Arsenal will win the Premier League title for a second year in a row if they maintain their standards from last campaign.**
Mikel Arteta’s side ended the 2025/26 season with 85 points, seven clear of runners-up Manchester City, and Owen says that number will be enough to finish top of the table in 2026/27:
“Arsenal only have to stand still, and they win the Premier League again. I can’t see anyone jumping out of the pack and getting 85 points, whereas Arsenal are pretty much guaranteed to hit that number again.”
“They’re such a steady team with such a good goalkeeper and defence; I just can’t see the wheels falling off. They’re just guaranteed to post a number; it won’t be a number that Man City or Liverpool hit in the past, but I just can’t see anyone matching them.”
“There’s too many questions over the other teams; there’s questions everywhere this season with all the new managers bar Arsenal. They will be steady and get mid to late 80s, and I don’t think anyone can beat that.”
“I think there’s more question marks over this season than ever before, which is why I think Arsenal are just set in stone to win the Premier League. There’s question marks over every single team, big question marks, except for Arsenal.”
Owen has predicted the order of the top six
-------------------------------------------
The former England international believes Chelsea could finish second behind the Gunners, with Xabi Alonso backed to succeed in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
North London rivals Tottenham are predicted to finish 3rd under Roberto De Zerbi, with Liverpool fourth, Manchester United fifth and Manchester City sixth.
Owen thinks City’s drop-off could happen with the departure of Rodri and the appointment of Enzo Maresca being contributory factors.
What are the odds of Arsenal winning the title?

Following the convincing [**3-0 win over City in the Community Shield**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-player-ratings-man-city-community-shield/) at the weekend, bookmakers have shortened the odds on Arteta’s men finishing in 1st place to between 6/5 and 5/4.
City, meanwhile, are now priced at 3/1 or as long as 7/2, with Liverpool deemed third favourites ahead of the likes of Chelsea and United.
