Morgan Rogers has settled into life at Chelsea nicely after his record move to Stamford Bridge.

Coming straight off helping England lock down third place at the 2026 World Cup, Morgan Rogers didn’t get much time to breathe before sealing a massive £117m move from Aston Villa to Chelsea.

Landing at a new club with that kind of price tag brings instant pressure, especially with Xabi Alonso building his new system.

Yet he looked like he’d been playing in blue for years. Stepping straight into Chelsea’s final pre-season run-out against Real Sociedad, Rogers took just 11 minutes to find the back of the net. His movement and link-up play were on full display throughout the 3-1 win, showing he’s already up to speed.

Morgan Rogers is excited to play alongside Cole Palmer again

Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers started and played together in Chelsea’s 3–1 pre-season win over Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge.

And Rogers is even more excited now to play alongside his mate at Stamford Bridge again.

He said: “He’s one of the best players in his position, and everyone, every attacker will want to play with someone with that quality. So, of course, that’s someone that I’d like to play with.”

Palmer and Rogers have played together on seven different teams, ranging from international youth to their time together at Manchester City. In this time, they’ve appeared in 29 games together, managing two joint goal contributions and a points per game of 2.03.

Even when they weren’t together, you could still see their relationship on full show, particularly with the ongoing joke regarding the ‘cold’ celebration.
