Chelsea have been active in this summer’s transfer window, with a host of new players moving to Stamford Bridge, while a number have exited Stamford Bridge, with more set to leave the West London club in the coming weeks. Brazilian striker Deivid Washington joined Chelsea in 2023, but his time in London has been disappointing, and according to Nizaar Kinsella of the BBC, the 21-year-old is open to leaving the club before deadline day.

It’s been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge, with Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix among others deciding to join the new manager Xabi Alonso. Plenty of exits have also occurred, with Trevoh Chalobah and Alejandro Garnacho leaving the club.

Plenty of others could move in the coming weeks before the deadline, and striker Deivid Washington looks likely to be one of those.

Washington moved to Stamford Bridge in 2023 in a £17m move from Santos. He has represented Brazil at Under-20 level, but his time in West London has been largely underwhelming. He returned to Santos on loan in 2025, but a paltry return of 3 goals in 36 appearances followed. Since moving to the Premier League club, the Brazilian has been nowhere near a regular squad place at Stamford Bridge. Most of his appearances have come for the club’s academy sides. However, he did make three senior appearances under former Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Washington: The Interest

The report from Kinsella states that Strasbourg are among the clubs in talks to sign the Blues youngster. Having the same BlueCo owners suggests the Ligue 1 club would be the favourites to sign the Brazilian. However, teams in Portugal and across Europe reportedly are interested.

The move to Stamford Bridge would have been an attractive proposition for the youngster and understandably so. However, a move to Europe now would give him the opportunity to get his career back on track.
