Liverpool remain locked in talks to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG.
While the deal isn’t done yet, various sources have confirmed that everything is heading in the right direction, with the French international finalising personal terms with the Reds.
Barcola’s arrival could make him Liverpool’s first-choice left winger, which puts Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha in uncomfortable positions, to say the least.
And now, Paul Joyce of The Times has confirmed that Ngumoha will be stationed on the right flank to accommodate the Frenchman’s arrival.
Ngumoha to change position if Liverpool sign Barcola
The youngster enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Liverpool under Arne Slot and featured predominantly on the left flank.
However, under Iraola, he has also been stationed on the right in pre-season and has performed admirably.
Joyce reveals that Liverpool feel he can develop on the right flank, with Reds target Ibrahim Mbaye also set to compete with him in that position if he joins.
Ngumoha turns 18 at the end of the month and will be able to sign a five-year contract which should reflect the strides he has made over the last year. https://t.co/IH2ybOS4ab

An excerpt from the article reads: “Rio Ngumoha set for prominent Liverpool role – but on the right.
“The 17-year-old is likely to feature more from the opposite flank this season as club try to complete the signing of Bradley Barcola from PSG.
“Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola is with a view to playing him in his preferred position on the left.”
The report also confirms that Ngumoha will sign a long-term deal when he turns 18 next month, which is further good news for Liverpool.
Ideally, the Reds want to have Ngumoha, Barcola, Mbaye and Victor Munoz as options on the wings, with Gakpo also still at the club.
And that looks like a fantastic crop of wide players for Iraola to coach…
