Christos Tzolis will enter Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Coventry City carrying one of the most remarkable attacking streaks in European football.
The £34million summer signing produced two assists in Sunday’s 3-0 Community Shield victory over Manchester City, continuing an extraordinary sequence which began during his time with Club Brugge.
Tzolis has now registered at least one goal or assist in 19 consecutive club matches in which he has played 30 minutes or more.
Next comes Coventry at the Emirates on Friday night.

Christos Tzolis carries stunning run into Arsenal vs Coventry
Tzolis’ form did not suddenly begin when Arsenal signed him.
The Greece international arrived in north London after two outstanding seasons with Club Brugge, where he recorded 43 goals and 45 assists across 108 appearances before completing his move to the Premier League champions.
His impact at Arsenal has nevertheless been immediate.

His latest streak makes Mikel Arteta’s decision for Friday increasingly difficult.
ReadArsenal’s predicted XI against Coventry has Tzolis retaining his place on the left alongside Bukayo Saka and Havertz.
Gabriel Martinelli remains another option, but Tzolis has given Arteta very little reason to remove him.
The winger has already transformed from a £34m depth signing into one of Arsenal’s most in-form attackers.
Coventry will now be tasked with becoming the first club in 20 matches to stop Tzolis recording a goal involvement when he receives significant minutes.
