Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa has reportedly been handed a career lifeline, with reports in Spain claiming La Liga side Valencia is interested in the Italian.
Signed by the Reds in August 2024 from Juventus as a low-risk transfer, Chiesa has made just nine starts since swapping Turin for Merseyside. He made 14 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 Premier League title-winning season under Arne Slot, before going on to make 36 appearances last term.
However, with the Reds currently pursuing deals for Paris Saint-Germain wingers Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, Chiesa's time on Merseyside looks to be drawing to a close.
According to reports in Spain from SER Deportivos Valencia, a daily local sports radio show broadcast by Radio Valencia, Valencia is reportedly interested in signing Chiesa this summer.
"VCF has made official inquiries about players with a name like Chiesa," said journalist Fran Guaita on Monday.
"I have the impression that they’re looking for a high-quality game-changer up top who can generate market buzz in the last week of August."
The additions of Barcola and Mbaye would further push Chiesa down the pecking order among the attackers available to Andoni Iraola, with the Italian already behind the likes of Victor Munoz, Cody Gakpo, and Rio Ngumoha.

While versatile, Chiesa's move to Merseyside simply has not worked out, despite his earlier explanation this preseason that he was eager to get to grips with what Liverpool's new manager demands of him.
"It is always a fresh start at the beginning of the year," said Chiesa following Liverpool's 4-2 win over Sunderland last month, a game in which the Italian scored. "Maybe there have been too many fresh starts [for him]. But I don’t care, I am trying to do my best for this new manager.
Chisea continued, "Last season under Arne Slot, I was trying to do my best. Last year I felt ready for a bigger role, then it depended on the coach whether he wanted me to play or not. Of course I wanted to play more but it is what it is.

"The gaffer had his gameplans, he took his decisions, I have nothing to say about that. It is football. This year, let us say it is a new chapter. There is a new manager and I have to focus on that."
"Right now, at the moment, I am happy here at Liverpool.
"I love the club, I love the fans, I love everything. I am doing the best I can to have a chance here. And then we will see. At the minute, the only thing I am thinking about is Liverpool."
