Chelsea get their Premier League campaign underway when they face neighbours Fulham in a west London derby on Monday evening.

Xabi Alonso’s side endured a mixed run of results during pre-season, although they ended on a high with a 3-1 win over Spanish side Real Sociedad on Saturday.

The Blues finished tenth last term after a dismal campaign, during which both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior were sacked.

Alonso will hope to oversee huge improvement this season, starting off with a victory against the Whites on Monday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Blues have put a huge price tag on one of their most in-demand players.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea will look to demand a fee of almost £100 million if they are to sell winger Pedro Neto this summer.

The Portuguese arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wolves two years ago for a fee of around £54 million and has since made a total of 103 appearances for the London side in all competitions.

He has scored 19 goals and provided the same number of assists during his time in SW6, but the Portugal international has attracted attention from elsewhere.

The report suggests that the Blues have taken notice of the considerable sum that Real Madrid paid to sign Yan Diomande earlier this month, as well as the figures being touted as a possible price tag for Liverpool target Bradley Barcola.

Neto, 26, is said to have been the subject of interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, while fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are all also credited with an interest in the attacker.

The Portuguese’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of the 2030/31 campaign.
