With a 25-man Premier League squad needing to be finalised, here’s what is currently going on with transfers at Chelsea.

Chelsea’s transfer strategy this summer has been focused on bringing in tailored fit over sheer numbers.

Morgan Rogers leads a transformed attack alongside Portuguese talent Geovany Quenda, veteran experience in Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, and defenders Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, and Valentin Barco.

With incoming business slowing down, the emphasis shifts to trimming a bloated squad. Key departures are already underway, with Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo the focus.

But the question remains over whether there will be any more incomings.

Chelsea have not ruled out any more signings

According to The Athletic, the focus at this stage is on outgoings.

Chelsea have not completely ruled out buying anyone else, although it will depend on who goes, and there is an acknowledgement that it is late in the window.

Especially given Chelsea’s financial position, it’s healthy to get a few more bits of dead weight off the books and regain some funds after a summer full of spending.

Chelsea still needs some more signings

One of the biggest debates this summer has been over the goalkeeper position, with Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders battling it out for the number one spot.

However, there are still doubts over whether Sanchez will be reliable for a full season, given his inconsistencies at times last season.

As well as this, a central midfielder could be required depending on what happens with Enzo Fernandez, despite Manchester City missing the deadline. The Blues already have a whole host of central midfielders, but Fernandez could still leave if City were to return with an offer that Chelsea deem acceptable.

And then there would be an immediate need to find a world-class replacement.
