The board at Barcelona have put in place an updated timetable to secure the signing of key transfer target Julián Alvarez from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana will not take their efforts to land the Argentine beyond the end of this week.
The Barca-Alvarez saga has of course emerged as one of the stories of the summer across the Spanish football landscape. Amid an ongoing push to reinforce their centre-forward ranks, the reigning La Liga champions have identified the World Cup winner as their clear priority target.
The problem for Deco and co, however, is the stance of their counterparts in Madrid that Alvarez is simply not for sale this summer.
So, with just weeks remaining in the window, where do Barcelona go from here? As alluded to above, an insight into as much has today come to the fore online.
The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who report:
‘FC Barcelona has set the next two or three days as the deadline to resolve the Julián situation. If it isn’t resolved within this timeframe, the sporting management will activate one of the alternatives they are considering.’
